So yet again it has been awhile since I've blogged but really there's not been much to blog about. This holidays hasn't been life-changing or anything, but it's been fun and I'm more than ready to head back to uni. But as I've been sitting at home vegging out, I've come to ask myself - where am I headed? You just start to wonder where your life will head to in the future.
And so you start to reflect...looking back how far you've come from high school to finishing your first year of university...the skills you've learned, the experience you've gained. Personally, I want to top every aspect of my achievements in every upcoming year. That's what gives me drive and motivation for work and for life and hopefully builds up a ladder to success.
Also on the private side of things...I've come to realise that being an eligible bachelor isn't all that bad =]. When you're fresh out of a relationship...I guess you still feel the need for some sort of co-dependence, hence the neediness from friends and rebounds and such. It's like walking with a cane for 5 years and then having it taken away from you. Then after a certain amount of time, you realise you could stand on your own 2 feet the whole time. It's taken me more time than I thought to get to this stage, and it sure wasn't a smooth transition, but now I'm here and I'm glad ^__^
Most of the time I see friends these holidays is within a last minute whim to go somewhere or do something. E.g. this morning, my wake-up sms was an invite to play tennis. Thanks Allen for organising =D. Also, the day before I left for the Gold Coast, I wanted to see my bro's before I left, so I called up Terry and Will for some mahjong 2 nights before for some chilling (thanks Kris for being 4th player =P). An even better example was when Nat and I were bored on msn so we headed out to the city...within the hour! It's great having friends like these who are just so willing to hang out or bum on a whim. It feels like having an extended family. My grandma is even suspecting me of having a girlfriend because I'm always heading out to see some friends hehe. Thank you all for being such awesome friends =] And if I haven't seen you in awhile, then let's get something organised!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays!~
omfg it is so. . . .fkn . . . HOT!!!! I can't lie in my bed for a nap without a blanket for half an hour without sweating 5kg's off. it's days like these when you just come out of the shower and feel the need to take another, that you start to miss the winter weather.
Global warming - fuck you. >=[
I must say I had a pretty good time at Nat's house party for the welcoming of the new year! Cheers to Nat for hosting such an awesome party and being so accomodating for everyone, even for those who just came to get a roof over their heads and some food in their bellies.
But of course, with a new year brings reflection of the year gone by and speculation of what's in the year to come! For me, 2008 was definitely a year to remember, and here are some of my own custom made dot point summaries of 2008:
- Loved and lost, and never made up
- Lost a good friend
- Rekindled some old friendships
- Realised how awesome friendships can be
- Realised I still have a lot to learn about socialising, females, and love
- Re-discovered and re-affirmed many times, my complete intolerance of alcohol
- Got in touch with my roots in Taiwan, returning for the first time ever!
- Started speaking Chinese at home as a result(huge tick off NYR)
- Learned valuable lessons about being a leader
- Got my first decent stable job (fell into my lap -.-)
- Bought my first ipod
- Bought my first imac (and loving it!)
- Became an apple fanboy
- Tried out for Australian Idol but failed
- Ripped my first year of uni
- Got hooked on US drama series/comedy series
- Was probably designated driver a bit too much. . .
- Had a semi-near death experience!
So that was retrospective, and here are a few New Years Resolutions to kick off 2009 -
> Tone up and feel good and fit
> Get a summer internship somewhere
> Work at the easter show
> Work at an electronics retailer (preferably the apple store xD)
> Rip second year of uni
> Find some romance
> Keep friends close
> Make new friends!
> Help out more at home
> Save up lots of money
> Join a revue (and star as a singer haha)!
Hopefully this blog will still be around in a year so I can check back and see if I've fulfilled most of them =]
